Eleonora came to the UK aged 13 not speaking a word of English. She enrolled at a local school where she was the only international pupil. By devouring Sherlock Holmes novels, she improved her English and subsequently successfully passed all state exams. Eleonora was the second Ukrainian to read for an undergraduate degree at Oxford University. Undertaking the whole process of relocation and study in a different environment gave her an insight into how it should be structured for future international students, what works and what does not.
From 2006 Eleonora was the head of a global educational consultancy. She led an international team of experts specialising in a wide range of educational services, from entry to top independent schools to admission to distinguished universities. She regularly delivered lectures, workshops and training seminars at schools worldwide.
Under Eleonora’s guidance students fulfilled their academic potential and have forged careers in the arts, medicine, engineering, computing and law to name a few. Some founded their own companies or progressed on to masters or doctoral courses. Consequently, parents and students have no difficulty in recommending Eleonora as a trusted adviser to prospective international students. Most of Eleonora’s students are referred to her by families she worked with in the past.
Eleonora is experienced at mentoring students throughout the application process, seeing them maturing intellectually and attaining what they originally thought impossible. She encourages candidates to aspire towards the best institutions. It is ultimately rewarding for students to receive offers from establishments which they initially dismissed as beyond their reach.
Vision
Each pupil is unique, and their educational pathway should be unique too. Exploring students’ interests and aptitudes uncovers the vision of their ideal school, degree and career, opening their minds to sometimes vastly different options to their original choice.
Strategy
Putting together a plan of action and mapping each stage to the application process requires a creative approach. Various elements within the plan can be adapted imaginatively to new circumstances or changed, as flexibility is essential to achieving the overall aim.
Tools
Admission to leading schools and universities is very competitive, therefore preparation is key. Often there are more than 10 candidates per place and to excel in various assessments students must prepare with dedication and focus. To facilitate this preparation Eleonora engages expert tutors and advisers with whom she has been working for many years. They provide academic grounding in key subjects, run practice tests and interviews and mentor students.
